Sensor vs. Analyzer

Today's available NH4 sensors are used for state-of-the-art optimization of wwtp aeration basins. Nevertheless wet chemical analyzers have their justified existence for the following reasons:

  • Certain parameters like phosphate can only be detected by wet chemical methods
  • Measurements at very low concentrations frequently need a standard method for accurate determination of the parameter concentration.
One example for the detection of Ammonium at very low concentrations is the indophenol-blue method which is used with the new Alyza IQ – Ideally suited for the detection of NH4 in rivers and lakes.
